Salary:                Price work (£8 THP and £2 THP Test) - Van, fuel and tools all supplied

Smart City Recruiters are working with a well-established major strategic partner of choice within the telecommunication sector, our client is in a massive expansion phase and looking to recruit new talent for their growing company.

Job Summary

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for Fibre Splicers to come on board as a Fibre Splicer based across the Southampton. You will play a key role and will be responsible for splicing and IOLM testing.

Accountabilities

• Responsibilities on all daily tasks completed, 
• Lead by example,
• Responsible for health and safety requirements,
• Be able to splice and test using OTDR / IOLM,
• Ensure are works are completed within spec of our clients’ needs,
• Carry out all testing on completed works,
• Completing/submitting all daily correspondents and relevant pictures and paperwork on each cab and pole worked on,
• Maintain high standards of work,
• Carry out any other duties or tasks deemed necessary by your Line Manager,

Knowledge & Key Skills

Essential:

• Have a very good understanding of splicing and IOLM testing,
• Be able to read SLD’s, FAS’s and maps and understand the terminology,
• Driving License,
• Good IT skills,
• Good communication skills,
• Self-motivated,
• Must have a good awareness of health and safety,
• NRSWA Unit2,
• SA001 PIA overhead,
• SA002 PIA underground,

Desirable

• Experience on working with BT poles
• IPAF license
