- Description
- Trainee Poling Operatives (removal & renewal)
We are looking for brand new recruits with transferable skills to train as Poling Operatives, for the removal and renewal of telegraph poles on the Openreach network. These positions are Nationwide and offer long term employment, as the replacement programme to maintain circa 1,000,000 Telephone Poles Nationwide requires 60,000+ per year to be renewed.
This is set to grow due to several reasons such as:-
- Alternative Network providers
- New project activities on both ONSA and Project Falcon
- Overhead poling provision of Fibre is far more cost effective than traditional underground Civils activities.
- There is a programme to move all Fibre of existing Electrical Routes and on to their own dedicated pole.
Our ideal candidates will be hard working individuals who don’t mind working outdoors in all weather conditions and are used to manual labour. If you hold a HGV licence, this would be considered a distinct advantage due to the types of vehicles required to carry the poles.
We would be very keen to discuss in great detail how we will take you through our training programme to be fully skilled in less than 3 Months and look forward to earning in the region of £35,000 in your first year. Starting salaries whilst in training will be £25k per annum.
