- Role: Civils Operatives x 20 people
Location: East Manchester
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the project manager the ideal candidates will have experience performing excavations, repairs and re-reinstatements, installation of ducting, chambers and street cabinets within the public highway This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, organisation and supervision skills. Responsible for ensuring performance and profitability for all network projects. Working closely with all stakeholders to deliver projects that meet their requirements.
Candidate must have a good awareness of Health & Safety and company policies.
As a member of the civils team your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Provide new installation of duct / micro duct, chambers and cabinets and associated customer connection pots and responsible for own reinstatement.
- Clear blockages in the highway and reinstate to industry standard.
- Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates / trench compactor / mini digger / jackhammer and hold the correct certification to complete the works.
- Complete appropriate paperwork for your daily works on job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets and or van sheets
- To have a good understanding of plans and drawings and be able to review and understand work instructions prior to any work commencement
- Completion of risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities
- Be responsible for the company assets and plant assigned to you for the purpose of performing your duties
- To treat internal and external customers with respect and provide support at all times
- Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures
- Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients
You will have the following qualifications and be able to prove experience and competence
- Openreach Network experience (essential)
- Previous experience working in a similar role
- NRSWA Accreditation
- Able to tow
- Clean and valid current driving license
- Good awareness of Health and Safety
