Our client operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of a Group of companies. They deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.
 
Smart City Recruiters Ltd are looking for a Civils Manager to be part of our clients Telecom Contract in the UK based in their Essex office.
 
Role Purpose:
 
To support the Fibre Build team in the delivery of the fibre build programme by managing the build partners to deliver the civils programme ahead of flex activities.  You will have overall responsible for the programming and delivery of the civils work stream, working with the wider teams support to ensure smooth delivery of the programme.
 
Key Accountabilities:
 
  • Embed a structured and consistent approach is utilised across the programme to ensure the programme is delivered safely on time & to the correct build quality.
  • Manage the programme of works, engaging with the build partners to programme and deliver successfully the civils works ahead of the flex teams completing the fibre build element.
  • Manage field-based staff to ensure the programme is completed safely & to correct build quality.
  • Identify areas for improvement at delivery and planning level providing feedback to the Contract Manager to enable them to construct plans to deliver the required changes for future development.
  • Stakeholder management within the client via face-to-face meetings and telephone conferences
  • Have an awareness of financial impact relating to performance and compliance
 
Performance Measures:
 
  • Safety – Zero Harm culture
  • Quality – Build quality to Openreach specification
  • Streetworks – NRSWA performance below 10% failure rate
 
Skills/Competencies/Experience required:
 
  • Proven track record of programming / managing civils in similar environment
  • Ability to provide management to field-based teams working remotely
  • Extensive civils knowledge & experience, including reinstatement
  • The ability to work collaboratively with Stakeholders both within the Client arena and the Supply Chain.
