Description
Role:              Fibre Splicers x 5 people
Location:      Chesterfield

We are currently looking to recruit the very best talent for opportunities for experienced Fibre Splicers. As part of the role, you will be providing a full Fibre network on behalf of our client

Responsibilities:

  • Installation of optical fibre cable, bundles and blown fibre tubing using fibre blowing equipment to required standards, including fault finding on existing network.
  • Live network Fusion splicing using state of the art Splicing Equipment.
  • Splicing and testing of external optical fibres to the end customer premise in line with quality standards using OTDR/ILM/PMD/CD/EXFO FTB200 or similar.
  • Working at height and in the underground network splicing and connecting AFN’s to the PIA infrastructure.
  • Supporting company and client engineers to connect Residential and Business customers.
  • Working as an individual and as a part of team to achieve targets and KPI’s.
  • Adherence with Health and Safety legislation

We are looking for people who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on your licence
  • Hold or have held a valid NRSWA street works Operative unit 2 card
  • Experience working with design schematics, duct diagrams and works instructions.
  • Ability to produce, update and interpret records of daily work logs, data recordings and network design maps.
Have experience working on Openreach’s Network and have held the following Openreach accreditations:
  • N23 or N26 One Fibre Network Build
  • K8 Test Rod and Rope
  • Have experience building and splicing on PIA infrastructure.
  • Confident working at heights and in the underground network.
  • Excellent communication skills
 
Rates - Synthetic Codes / Price Work (Excellent rates)
 
We are interested to speak with fully kitted out sub-contractors and also Fibre engineers needing equipment providing.
