Our client operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Group. Covering the full network lifecycle, They deliver Managed Services and Projects for both fixed and mobile infrastructure networks across the operator and utility markets.
Smart City Recruiters Ltd are looking for a Senior Project Manager to be part of our City Fibre Team in in Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Greater Manchester areas.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will be part of our client’s delivery team who are responsible for end to end delivery of the FTTP (Fibre to the premise) build programme. The successful applicant would need to be from a strong flex / fibre background, preferably with Openreach network experience.
You will ideally have excellent Project Management and Operational experience to enable the team to achieve the project deliverables.
What will you be doing?
As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Supervision of a number of Project Managers
- Responsible for project recruitment
- Management of Supply chain
- Attend and chair all required meetings both client & our clients / Supply chain
- In-depth knowledge of Openreach specifications & documentation is desirable
- Co-ordination of work stack/multiple contractors/DLO in line with delivery programme, ensuring delays are minimised by resolving operational issues to enable swift job closure and invoicing
- Ensuring prompt and accurate completion and return of relevant compliance documentation
- Ensuring relevant Health and Safety standards are followed and achieved
- Lead and develop a team to successfully meet and exceed both MTS/Openreach expectations
- Jeopardy managing of works to ensure that the required by date delivery and volume delivery targets are met
- Ensure staff/operatives are regularly monitored and motivated to deliver the highest possible standards
Skills and Experience:
- Experienced in Utility Works / Highways works.
- Experienced in FTTP build - Fibre cable installation / splicing / testing.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office products – word, excel etc.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and exceed client expectations
- The ability to motivate, manage and grow a successful team
- Strong previous experience of the Communications industry at a similar level
- Able to drive/have a valid UK driving license
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 3 years project coordinator or project management experience in a telecommunications environment
- Proven track record of delivery and a proactive approach to managing projects.
- Demonstrable experience of budget control
- Must have excellent presentation and formal communicational skills.
- Will be skilled and experienced in the Microsoft Office suite
- Competent in MS Project.
Desirable
- Strong understanding of H&S regulations and ability to implement on Telecoms projects.
- Understanding of CDM (2015)
- Confident and able to liaise and influence across all levels within the Business, the Customer, and suppliers with proven in experience in managing challenging stakeholders.
