Smart City Recruiters are currently looking to recruit a Works Co-Ordinator to work on our R100 contract in Blantyre for one of our clients
The post holder will be responsible for the accurate and efficient planning of different Projects within the wider R100 Programme of Works, in adherence to the required Policies and Regulations set by the Business and Client (Openreach).
Key Tasks:
The individual will take and apply the guidance of the Programme Manager on the focus of the Programme.
They will be involved in the organisation and co-ordination of key tasks within each individual Project assigned by the Programme Manager.
They will manage tasks under strict adherence to Health and Safety Legislation, and Policies and Regulations set out by the Business and Client (Openreach).
They will be required to read, analyse and understand the content of Work Orders provided by the Client.
They will quickly identify and adapt to potential issues in the running of the individual tasks within each Project.
All updates and changes to the running of the Project will be correctly logged and accurately reported to the wider Project Team and Programme Manager via regular system updates and Team Meetings.
They will have regular contact with Suppliers and Field teams, and will be responsible for assisting in queries through the use of various Network Software applications at their disposal.
Key Reports and Interfaces:
- General Manager for guidance on overall Business Performance and Contract Changes
- Programme Manager for guidance on the direction and focus of the Programme.
- Planning Manager for guidance on Planning Policies and Regulations to be followed.
- Operational Colleagues and Staff for support in day-to-day activities.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Experience working in a highly Project driven environment is a must.
The individual must show an ability to work on their own or as part of a team, and should have an aptitude in Problem Solving.
They must be highly driven, and have good communication skills, both written and verbally.
A background in the Telecommunications Industry is highly favourable, especially an appreciation of Fibre Networks and Infrastructure. To a lesser extent, previous Copper Network knowledge would prove useful.
Any experience in managing and liaising with suppliers / sub-contractors would be welcome also.
Previous experience in the use of Openreach Network Systems (PRM, Piper, Geohub, Orion) and Project Management tools (Salesforce, Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint) will prove beneficial.
It is also advisable that the individual with be computer literate, and will be well versed in the use of the various Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint).
Additional Information;
This will be a primarily desk based role. However, opportunities may present themselves to acquire further knowledge through work with field based teams.
