Fibre / Civils Supervisor
Location: Argyll and Bute
Contract: Permanent
Smart City are currently recruiting for a Fibre and Civils Supervisor for our client who are apart of one of the UK's largest Telecoms and Infrastructure companies. You’ll lead field teams, keep projects on track, and ensure everything runs safely and smoothly. This is a full-time role with a growing company offering stability, a friendly team, and career development opportunities.
Where will you be working?
Our client has an opening for a Field Supervisor in the Telecoms Division. The role is based in a busy fibre network environment. The focus is on safe and steady site activity. The position includes guidance for field teams and support for fibre projects linked to the Openreach network.
The role sits at the centre of daily field operations. Site progress is checked often. Safety standards are maintained at all times. Work quality meets client expectations. Issues on site are managed through clear steps. Communication with teams is calm and respectful. Findings are shared in a way that is easy to understand.
Support for fibre crews is given through regular visits to sites. Guidance is provided on methods that follow Openreach standards. Records are kept in an organised way. Time on site is used to improve safe work habits and consistent results. Progress against plans is checked without delay. Changes are raised early to keep delivery safe and smooth.
A strong understanding of fibre networks is needed. Knowledge of fibre routing, splicing, testing and fault resolution is expected. Familiarity with fibre build challenges is important. Experience with civil work such as ducting, reinstatement or excavation is helpful. A deep understanding of Openreach processes and standards is essential.
This role offers steady responsibility and a supportive environment. It gives the chance to make a clear impact on the delivery of high-quality network work.
If you have strong fibre experience, good civil awareness and knowledge of the Openreach network, you are invited to apply.
What you’ll bring?
You will hold a current NRSWA Supervisor Street Works qualification that covers Units 10 to 16. This is needed for work on public highways. You will also have Smart Awards accreditation under the Network Operative Passport Scheme. This shows the safety and technical standards required for the role. Passive Infrastructure Access certification is helpful and will support work in Openreach environments.
A full UK driving licence is required. It must have been held
