Health and Safety Manager (Site Based)
Location: Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, Wales – with occasional working in the Birmingham Head office when required
Duration: Fixed Term Contract – Circa 108 WeeksOur client is one of the UK’s leading demolition and remediation contractors, delivering projects from £100k to £20m+ across a wide range of complex and high-profile sites. Overview of Position
•Site based H&S Officer responsible for maintaining health and safety requirements for the project on which you are employed.
•To ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace.
•Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulationsKey Requirements of Position
•To set a personal example, wearing appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment, and observing all safety requirements and procedures.
•Ensure that the project employed on is undertaken and completed with Health & Safety as the upmost priority.
•Day-to-day liaison with the Client and Third-Party Stakeholders.
•Preparation / or review of comprehensive task specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments for operations undertaken on site.
•Monitor site Health & Safety arrangements and activities and make proposals to the Site Manager to ensure that the site is fully Health & Safety compliant.
•In conjunction with site management team, develop and implement site specific safety and quality control plans and programs, resolving problems whilst ensuring that the project you are employed on is completed safely and on time.
•Produce Health & Safety Risk Assessments for all site staff on the project you are employed on, ensuring safe working methods are always adopted.
•Conduct Health & Safety inspections and site audits and recommend remedial actions as required.
•Report on changes in legislation and advice obtained from other sources.
•Advise Contracts Directors immediately of any near misses.
•Advise the Company Health & Safety Manager immediately of all incidents under RIDDOR in accordance with company procedures.
•Respect the confidentiality of all information obtained in the course of duties.
•Ensure that you understand and abide by the duties, responsibilities, and legal requirements in respect of Health & Safety and welfare affecting you, colleagues, clients and visitors to company and client premises.
•Always maintain professional competency.

•Ability to obtain site level security clearance is essential.Qualifications and Experience
•NVQ 6- or the old 4 In Occupational Health and Safety or Nebosh Diploma
•CSCS Card (Black) Health and Safety professional (Construction) or (black card demolition manager)
•First Aid
•Experience within the demolition industry or construction industry is essential.
•Experience of working within the nuclear sector would be highly desirable.
