About The Role
Smart City Recruiters Ltd’s client is focused on the design, build and maintenance of telecom infrastructure for key clients in the fixed telecom market. They are part of the Telecom Division of a Group of companies. They deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.
 
Smart City Recruiters Ltd are looking for 2 x Front Line Managers to be part of our Telecom Contracts in the relevant Scottish geographical areas. Applicants from other utilities out with a Telecoms Civils infrastructure environment are encouraged to apply.
 
What will you be doing?
 
The successful candidate will support the Area Delivery Manager through day-to-day management of the Field based Civils operation in successfully delivering all contracts in a safe manner, to the highest degree of quality and to the agreed scope and programme timescales.
 
Support the implementation of key strategies to ensure the continuous improvement of operational effectiveness and customer service whilst maximising revenues and subsequent profits.
 
What will your key responsibilities be?
 
  • Responsible for auditing operational gangs.
  • Meeting all key stake holders in the field ensuring key delivery dates are met (Openreach, Magdalene, SPen, Local Authorities, Customers, and potential customers)
  • Liaising with the Operational Coordinator you will assist with the vetting of upcoming work orders and scope ensuring Operatives are suitably skilled and competent for the works that they are tasked to do.
  • Recording updates for ongoing and completed works; ensuring the relevant Operations Coordinator is kept up to date with works progress.
  • Regularly liaising with management to ensure that all completed works are recorded and logged, in particular reinstatement dimensions and noticing end completion/works clear.
  • Dealing with any quality issues in a timely fashion and supply the client with dates for them to be resolved.
  • And all other Field related management requests
 
 
What competencies are we looking for?
 
  • NRSWA
  • SMSTS (not essential)
  • Other Utilities experience and accreditations
  • Previous or current plant Ops accreditation
  • Previous or Current BT / Openreach accreditations
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Attention to detail in the quality audit, site set up and ability to work accurately.
  • Appreciation of the fibre network and Civils’ infrastructure
  • Experience or running multiple civils and support gangs.
