Description

Smart City Recruiters Ltd are currently looking for a Senior Quality and Technical Supervisor for our client based in the Birmingham area on a permanent basis.

Job Title: Senior Quality and technical Supervisor

Main purpose and scope of job: To provide support to the technical department in relation to surface treatment/surfacing contracting activities as well as HSEQ matters.

Position in organisation:
Reports to: Quality and Technical Services Manager
Responsible for: Day to day operations
Budget responsibilities: N/A

Duties and responsibilities:
• Quality Control on site with crews Nationwide
• Performing Material performance testing
• Ensuring design and application are consistent
• Providing feedback to technical department of on-site activities
• Completing HSEQ requirements with crews
• Reviewing new materials for conformity
• Assessing current suppliers’ trends and Non-conformances
• Liaising with supplier regarding product technical specification
• Liaison with contract managers and supervisors
• Calibration of machinery in conjunction with operators & Design
• Sampling of material for conformity
• Auditing of ISO & NHSS processes
• Attending meetings with clients, suppliers and Industry Bodies
• Finished product testing (Reflectivity, Hardness and Skid Resistance)

General responsibilities:
• Ensuring foremen/crews comply with processes and contract requirements
• Quality and Environmental control
• Collating of evidence to support HSEQ requirements

Personal requirements:
Qualifications • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Construction or Highway Maintenance.
• CSCS card (Blue Card).
Skills and Knowledge • Aggregates and bituminous materials.
• Surface Dressing and Micro-asphalt experience preferable but not essential.
• HSEQ experience.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
• Client liaison experience.
Personal attributes • Flexible and willing with a “Can do” attitude
• Computer literate e.g. word, excel etc
• Full UK driving license.
• Be able to work under own initiative.
