Description

Smart City Recruiters Ltd are looking for a Road Surfacing Supervisor to join one of our client team as they go through a period of planned and stateable growth. This position will be based out of the Pontefract area and will cover the entirety of the Yorkshire region and other counties if required.

Our client is a well-established surface treatment company based in the Birmingham region, with several other offices including a Yorkshire office. Also have one of the largest and newest surfacing fleets.

Ideally the Road Surfacing Supervisor will have a background in Micro Asphalt or Road Surface Dressing, and working knowledge of Highway Maintenance / Traffic Management is essential

The Road Surfacing Supervisor will look after a range of contracts working across several different teams and proactively engage with a range of clients and departments. You will be responsible for assisting with project managing, prioritising and ultimately consistently delivering on time and with best value outcomes.

As an Supervisor your key responsibilities will be:

·Supporting the implementation of the contract management strategy

  • Supervise sub-contractors by selecting and evaluating them as well as monitoring and controlling their performance
  • Travel to and supervise multiple sites during a day
  • Determining required resources, allocating resources, establishing protocols and standards, scheduling staff, resolving problems, evaluating deadline estimates and adjusting as needed, and implementing change orders
  • Fulfil human resource needs by adhering to procedures and policies and communicating job expectations
  • Approve projects by performing inspections at critical phases
  • Meet operational standards by resolving problems, contributing information to strategic plans, and identifying improvements
  • Maintain healthy and safe work environment by enforcing procedures and standards and complying with legal regulations.
  • Assisting the Contract Manager to Co-ordinate the storage and quantities of material to maximise Output
  • Training or ensuring that workers are properly trained for their specific roles.
  • Assisting Contracts Manager to ensure full SHEQ of Contract requirements
  • Assisting Contract Manager attain performance requirements of the contract to meet KPI’s.
  • Providing real-time feedback.
  • Carry out site audits as per company requirements.
  • Assisting in resolving any operational issues raised by the Contractor or members of the public. For example, a quality or a customer care issue.
  • Measuring sites.
  • Ensuring compliance of Sub-Contractors in accordance with timelines, costs and outputs.
  • Liaising and communicating by phone and emails with the Client for daily progress reporting and to attend regular scheduled formal meetings.

To work for this exciting growing organisation, you will require the following experience:

·Some understanding and experience of Civils and surfacing treatment and Contract Regulations.

·Experience in a commercial role is desirable,

·Evidence of good communication skills and customer service ethic.

·Evidence of leading small low complexity projects.

·Driving license

This exciting role as an Road Surfacing Supervisor is paying up to £30,000 - £35,000pa basic salary with the following benefits:
