Job Title:             Fibre andCabling Supervisor
Location:             North East Coverage
Reporting To:      Delivery Manager
 
Job Summary
Reporting to the Delivery manager the ideal candidates will have experience of supervising cabling and splicing activities, Knowledge of installation of fibre/copper cabling essential both internal and external as well as cabinet builds. This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, organisation, and supervision skills.
 
Responsible for ensuring performance and profitability for all network projects. Working closely with all stakeholders to deliver projects that meet their requirements. Candidate must have a good awareness of Health & Safety and company policies.
 
Site supervision of field operatives (direct labour and sub-contract) to ensure that all orders are delivered to time, in a safe and compliant manner, ensuring all contractual processes, procedures and quality standards are met.
 
Overview Of Responsibilities
 
  • HA and Local Authority liaison
  • Client liaison
  • Emergency Call Out coverage
  • HA Defects – compliance to legislative clearance timescales
  • Survey for fluidity tasks
  • Ensure compliance to all quality and safety standards via in-progress and retro audits
  • In field coaching and identification of operative training and accreditation requirements
  • Operative accreditation
  • Stores and materials
  • Ownership of completed work through to billing
  • Job pack engineering validation
 
Experience / Knowledge
 
  • 5+ Year experience working in telecoms industry (Ideally on VM Network)
  • Effective Leadership and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to motivate others effectively
  • Good Managerial skills
  • Results orientated
  • Awareness of Customer Satisfaction for both internal and external sources.
  • Accepts and stimulates change within working environment
 
Skills
 
  • Strong skills in client management, planning, logistics, resource management and commercial controls.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working within the telecoms industry preferably at a supervisor or manager level.
  • Good working knowledge of cabling, jointing and splicing delivery on copper & fibre networks
  • Good working Knowledge of work management systems and windows packages-(XP/Excel/Word)
  • Financial awareness
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety and Quality Assurance Procedures, Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Construction Design Management Regulations and Section 74 Regulations.
  • Able to work with complex technical drawings
  • Experience in surveying and detecting underground apparatus.

  • Possessing a good understanding of behavioural safety management and lead the business towards a zero incident / accident performance.
  • A team player, adept at holding others to account through a challenging and supportive leadership style, whilst consistently delivering on their own commitments
