Our client is focused on the design, build and maintenance of telecom infrastructure for key clients in the fixed telecom market. We are part of the Telecom Division of a Group of companies. They deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.

Smart City Recruiters Ltd are currently looking to recruit a Direct Labour Delivery Manager to work on our contracts across the South East of England, based out of our Brentwood office.

What will you be doing?

As the Direct Labour Delivery Manager, you will be part of our delivery team who are responsible for end-to-end delivery of the FTTP (fibre to the premise) build programme.  The successful applicant would need to be from a strong flex / fibre background, preferably with Openreach network experience.

You ideally have operational experience (cabling, civils, OH, Splicing) will boast excellent Project Management and clerical skills to enable the team to achieve the project deliverables.

What will your key responsibilities be?

We are looking for a Delivery Manager to drive the national civils performance across a range of programmes for our client, Openreach.

A key part of your role will be to mobilise new civils suppliers as required to expand capability in new work areas, move into new geographies or provide resilience in the supply chain.

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Driving the Direct Labour delivery performance of all suppliers working across the various workstreams.
  • Ensuring our suppliers balance their resource across all work areas in order to deliver against key customer milestones.
  • Ensuring delivery is achieved to the correct quality, health and safety standards.
  • Identifying and mobilising additional civils resource as required.
  • Sharing knowledge and best practice on civils delivery with other managers/supervisors in the Delivery Team and suppliers.
  • Reporting on delivery progress against the required targets and milestones.
  • Attending/chairing face to face meetings and conference calls with both the client and the supply chain.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships both internally at Morrison Telecom Services as well as within the customer and our supply chain.

What competencies are we looking for?

  • A strong civils background, ideally within Telecoms, including all relevant streetworks legislation and H&S requirements.
  • Must have previous experience of Direct Labour delivery and hitting targets.
  • Previous experience of running civils teams and managing suppliers.
  • A good understanding of the commercial models utilised with civils suppliers.
  • A proven track record of delivering against customer timescales and targets.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability and willingness to pass knowledge onto others.
  • Competent in the use of all Microsoft Office tools.
